Senate Bill 12
To be in accordance with the new Texas Law, Senate Bill 12, Academy of Accelerated Learning is requesting written consent for your child to participate in clubs and organizations, as well as to receive school-based health and counseling services from qualified district personnel. These services may be provided by school nurses, counselors, social workers, athletic staff, and other certified health and mental health professionals.
This law requires that parents/guardians are fully informed and give permission for these supports. In the event of a serious emergency, staff will take immediate action to protect your child’s safety and will contact you right away. Staff may also check in with students about their daily well-being.
By granting consent, your child will have access to timely, reliable services that promote their health, safety, wellness, and academic success. Without this consent, staff will be limited in the assistance they can provide during the school day.
